Biography.

Born in 1952 in Gliwice, Poland
1973 – 1978 Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków
1984 scholarship from Ministry of Culture and Arts
1987 – 1990 Braunschweig School of Arts as a student
since 1988 employed by Braunschweig School of Arts
since 1993 teacher of communication design at Braunschweig School of Arts
2008 doctorate on Media Arts


Grzegorz G. Zgraja graduated from art and graphic design at Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He continued studiing experimental film and video arts at Braunschweig School of Arts, where he is still working as a teacher. Since the middle of the 1970s he is preoccupied with video arts. In his work he is connecting image and sound. While melting aesthetic and technological subjects he overcomes the gap between different forms of art. In Zgrajas´ work the grafic picture can be interpreted by music. His video installations are often presented together with musicians as media events with music.Grzegorz G. Zgraja exhibited his work in Poland, Brasil, China, Thailand, USA etc. He is one of the founders of  »Laboratorium TP« . His art can be found at National Museum in Warsaw, Oberschlesisches Museum in Bytom, the Foundation for Silesia as well as in various private collections.
